What the Rear Lamp Does
The assembly provides both the normal rear position / tail-light function and the brighter stop-light function when either brake is operated. The original Yamaha design uses a dual-filament 12V 21/5W bulb rather than an LED module.
Reference Construction
OEM diagrams for 3D9-H4700-00 show a complete lamp body with red tail-light lens, gasket, dual-filament bulb position and vibration-isolated mounting arrangement. Reference photographs of the 2007-2009 unit show the familiar red lamp housing, two rear mounting studs and a short wiring lead / connector.
Important Bulb / Hardware Note
The Yamaha OEM assembly includes a 12V 21/5W bulb in its exploded parts specification, but aftermarket lamp assemblies can be supplied with or without the bulb and mounting hardware. Use the listing photographs as the final guide to exactly what is supplied with SKU 01233-LIG. Do not assume nuts, collars, grommets or bulb are included unless shown.
Critical Fitment Warning
Do not order by “YBR125” or year alone. Yamaha used several different complete tail-light assemblies on visually similar YBR125 models:
- 2005-2006 YBR125ED: Yamaha lists 3D9-H4710-01, not 3D9-H4700-00.
- 2007-2009 YBR125ED: 3D9-H4700-00 is documented.
- 2010 YBR125ED and many 2010+ ESD variants: Yamaha uses the different 18C-H4700-01 assembly.
- YBR125EGS / YBR125 G: many later-market models continue to use 3D9-H4700-00.
Before Ordering
- Compare the complete lamp shape with your original unit.
- Check the two mounting-stud positions and rear mounting arrangement.
- Compare the wiring lead and connector shape.
- Check the lens profile and bulb-holder arrangement.
- If possible, compare the Yamaha number on the original parts fiche with 3D9-H4700-00.
Installation & Road-Safety Check
Disconnect the battery if appropriate, transfer or install the correct bulb where required and secure the lamp without overtightening the plastic housing. After installation, switch on the ignition / lighting and verify the normal tail lamp works. Operate both the front and rear brake controls separately and confirm the brake light becomes noticeably brighter each time.
Do not ride until the rear position light and brake-light functions operate correctly.
OEM Reference Note
Yamaha part numbers are supplied for fitment and search comparison only. This product is aftermarket / unbranded and is not represented as Genuine Yamaha.
