Compatibility Warning
Do not order from model name alone. Before ordering, compare the ignition-switch body, mounting points, 4-wire loom, 3-pin connector, separate bullet terminal, fuel-cap shape and locking tabs with the parts fitted to your motorcycle.
Some aftermarket YBR125 ignition switches have different wire positions even when the connector body looks similar. Incorrect pinout can blow a fuse or prevent the motorcycle from starting. If the wire positions differ from the original switch, do not plug the unit in until the wiring has been checked by a competent motorcycle electrician.
Models Not Claimed as Direct Fit
- YBR125 carburettor models — not claimed as direct fit with this EFI listing
- YBR125 Custom — connector/pinout should be checked before ordering
- 2015–2016 YBR125 — Yamaha used later ignition/fuel-cap references, so direct fit is not assumed
- YS125 — not included; uses a different later-generation lock system
Installation
Disconnect the battery before replacing the ignition switch. Confirm connector pinout before connection and check steering-lock operation, fuel-cap locking and key operation after installation. Professional installation is recommended where wiring differs from the original.
