Fitment

  • Yamaha XTZ125 models using the 54 mm Yamaha/YBR-pattern engine
  • Airsal's manufacturer catalogue lists XTZ125 in the same 54 mm cylinder family as YBR125, YBR125 Custom and YB125
  • Confirm engine specification, bore and gasket shape before ordering

Compatibility Check

Check the original engine before ordering. Compare the cylinder shape, 54 mm bore, cylinder stud pattern, cam-chain tunnel, piston crown, gudgeon-pin size and gasket profiles with the kit shown. Model names can cover more than one engine specification, particularly on imported or later-production motorcycles.

If the original cylinder has been rebored, the engine has previously been converted to a larger capacity, or the engine number/specification does not match the Yamaha/YBR-pattern unit, this standard 54 mm kit may not be suitable.

Installation Notes

Clean all gasket faces and oil passages before assembly. Check piston-to-cylinder clearance, piston-ring end gaps and ring orientation before fitting. Install the piston with the correct orientation, use new gaskets and circlips, and tighten the cylinder/head fasteners to the motorcycle manufacturer's workshop specifications. Check valve timing and valve clearances before starting the engine.
