The external gear-change pedal, oil seal, external torsion return spring, circlip, dowel pin and other gearbox hardware are not included unless clearly shown in the product photographs.
Important Fitment Notes
- Yamaha used earlier shift-shaft references on some XT125 variants; 5VL-E8101-20 is the current superseding Yamaha reference for those applications.
- Check the selector-arm profile and splined pedal end against the original part before installation.
Do not order by engine capacity or model name alone. Compare the splined pedal end, shaft length, selector-arm shape, spring location and Yamaha OEM reference with the original component before fitting.
Installation
Replacing the selector shaft may require removal of engine-side covers and correct positioning of the selector mechanism and return spring. Inspect the shaft oil seal and related circlips/springs during installation. Confirm smooth selection of every gear before road use. Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with motorcycle gearbox mechanisms.
