Important Fitment Notes
- Yamaha 5VL-E8101-02 is listed as a previous/superseded reference of the current 5VL-E8101-20 assembly.
- This is a market-specific application; verify the original shaft reference before ordering.
Do not order by engine capacity or model name alone. Compare the splined pedal end, shaft length, selector-arm shape, spring location and Yamaha OEM reference with the original component before fitting.
Installation
Replacing the selector shaft may require removal of engine-side covers and correct positioning of the selector mechanism and return spring. Inspect the shaft oil seal and related circlips/springs during installation. Confirm smooth selection of every gear before road use. Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with motorcycle gearbox mechanisms.
