This listing is for an engine retaining the matching 41.00 mm standard cylinder bore. It is not an oversize piston and is not intended for a cylinder that has already been rebored to 41.25 mm, 41.50 mm, 42.00 mm or another oversize.
Important Fitment Check
Before ordering, measure the existing piston and cylinder and compare the piston crown, skirt, ring-peg positions, gudgeon-pin diameter and overall height with the product photographs. Earlier engines may have been rebored or fitted with replacement cylinders during their lifetime.
A worn cylinder should be measured for taper and ovality before a new standard piston is fitted. Honing or machining should be carried out as required by a competent engine machine shop.
Installation
Correct piston orientation, ring-peg positioning, circlip installation, cylinder clearance and two-stroke lubrication are essential. Installation by a competent motorcycle mechanic is recommended.
