Important Compatibility Check

This relay design is used on many motorcycles, but visually similar relays can have different connector pin-outs, fuse arrangements or terminal orientation. Before ordering, compare the photographs with the original relay and check the OE/reference number, four-terminal connector layout, 30A fuse position and the orientation of the two main battery/starter terminals.

The OE and manufacturer numbers below are supplied as compatibility and identification references only. They are not the manufacturer part number of the unbranded relay supplied.

Typical Symptoms of a Faulty Starter Relay

  • Starter button produces a click but the starter motor does not turn
  • No starter response even though the battery is charged
  • Intermittent starting when the relay or wiring is moved
  • Burnt, loose or overheated main terminals
  • Repeatedly blown or heat-damaged main fuse

Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery before replacing the relay. Transfer the battery and starter cables one at a time to avoid reversing them, ensure all terminals are clean and tight, check the connector for corrosion or heat damage and refit the relay securely in its original mounting position.
