Important Compatibility Check
Several KTM-group and off-road models use visually similar starter motors. Before ordering, compare the original starter with the photographs and check the OE/reference number, 9-tooth drive, 24 mm mounting-hole centres, 30 mm locating diameter, electrical-terminal position and overall housing shape.

Starter Fault Checks
Slow cranking or a no-crank condition can also be caused by a weak battery, poor earth connection, corroded terminals, damaged wiring, a faulty starter relay/solenoid, worn starter gears, torque-limiter faults or mechanical engine resistance. Check the starting circuit before replacing the motor.
Installation Notes
Disconnect the battery before installation. Clean the mounting and electrical-contact areas, inspect and lubricate the sealing O-ring as appropriate, ensure the starter seats squarely, and tighten all fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer's workshop specifications.
