Detailed Product Description
Aftermarket 12V electric-start stator / alternator assembly for compatible Honda Cub engines using the matching multi-coil stator and external pulse-pickup layout. The stator produces electrical output for the motorcycle charging and ignition system while the pickup sensor provides the trigger signal used by the ignition system.
This is specifically the electric-start style. Honda used several different Cub stator families across C50, C70 and C90 production, so the model name alone is not enough to guarantee fitment. The physical stator core, pickup position, wiring colours, connectors, grommets and original Honda part number should all be compared before ordering.
Symptoms of a Faulty Stator / Pickup
- Weak or no battery charging
- Intermittent or absent ignition trigger
- Difficult starting or non-starting when other ignition parts test correctly
- Burnt or visibly damaged stator windings
- Open-circuit or out-of-spec resistance readings
- Damaged pickup wiring or connectors
Important Fitment Checks
- Confirm the motorcycle is a 12V electric-start Cub model.
- Compare the stator diameter, mounting holes and pickup-sensor position with the original.
- Compare every connector, bullet terminal and wire colour before installation.

- Do not order this part as a substitute for a kick-start-only Cub stator simply because the engine capacity is the same.
- Earlier and later Honda electric-start Cub models can use different genuine stator families.
Installation & Diagnosis
Before replacing the stator, check the battery condition, regulator/rectifier, wiring earths, connectors and charging-system continuity. A failed regulator, damaged loom or poor earth can produce symptoms similar to a failed stator. Installation should be carried out with the correct flywheel removal tools and the wiring routed exactly as the original to prevent contact with the rotor.
