Kit Contents Identified from the Photos
- 4 × front-suspension repair bolts / pivot bolts
- 4 × brass suspension bushes
- Grease-nipple lubrication provision for the early-style greasable suspension pivots
- Associated nuts / fastener hardware supplied assembled as shown in the product photographs
The four bush positions correspond to the two front-arm pivot bushes and two lower front-cushion bushes used in the early Honda leading-link front suspension. The brass pieces are an aftermarket upgrade in place of the original Honda bush material.
Detailed Product Description
Front suspension arm and lower shock / cushion repair kit for compatible early 6V Honda Cub leading-link forks. The kit replaces worn pivot bolts and bushes at the four main lower front-suspension pivot points and upgrades the bush material to brass.
Wear in these pivots can cause excess movement, knocking, vague steering, uneven front-end movement and poor suspension control. The early Cub design uses greasable pivot hardware; keeping the pivots lubricated reduces wear and helps the leading-link suspension move freely.
6V / Early-Model Identification
This is the early greasable version. The key identification feature is the grease-nipple arrangement in the long suspension/pivot bolts. Later 12V Cub models use a different non-greasable repair-kit pattern, so do not order this kit purely from the C50/C70/C90 model name.
Important Fitment Checks
- Confirm the motorcycle is an early / 6V-style Cub with greasable front suspension pivots.
- Check for grease nipples in the ends of the original long bolts.
- Compare the two longer and two shorter bolt/bush assemblies with the product photographs.
- Compare the original pivot-bush locations with Honda references 51312-041 and 51311-041 families.
- Do not fit this early greasable kit to a later fork that uses the 12V/non-grease-nipple arrangement.
Installation & Maintenance
Support the motorcycle securely before dismantling the front suspension. Remove and replace one side at a time where practical so the original assembly remains available for comparison. Clean the pivot bores thoroughly, check the suspension arms for ovality or damage, lubricate the new brass bushes with suitable grease, and tighten the fasteners correctly. After assembly, grease the nipple points and re-check for free movement without excess play.
Front suspension hardware is safety-critical. If the suspension arms, mounting holes or pivot bores are badly worn or distorted, replacing bushes alone may not be sufficient.
